Brookside Estates HOA EVENTS

Ladies Bunco Group – Join the Fun!

A neighborhood Ladies Bunco Group meets monthly for lively game nights. Regular and substitute players are always welcome!

For more information, please contact Laurie Walker at 815-355-8134 or lw1226@comcast.net.

Past Event: Halloween, October 26th, 2025 2PM-5PM CT

The Brookside Estates Homeowners Association generally aligns its Halloween trick-or-treating schedule with that of the Village of Gurnee. This year, Halloween trick-or-treating will take place on October 26th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM CST.

Details regarding schedule, safety, and general guidelines from the Village of Gurnee can be found here: Trick-or-Treating

Annual Garage Sale, June/July 2026 (TBA)

An annual garage sale is held in June or July, with rain dates considered, and coordinated by all four Associations. This event is currently the only garage sale permitted within the Brookside Estates Homeowners Association. Any garage sale outside of this annual event is prohibited unless explicitly approved by the Board.

Further information regarding Lake County’s ordinance on garage sales can be found here:  Temporary Sales

While Lake County permits up to two garage sales per calendar year, each lasting no more than three consecutive days, Brookside Estates HOA has adopted a more restrictive policy. This is intended to reduce vehicle traffic and avoid drawing unnecessary attention to the neighborhood from non-residents. We kindly ask all homeowners to participate in the annual garage sale if they wish to sell items.

Other Events

The Board has been discussing the possibility of hosting additional sanctioned events, including a Fourth of July celebration, meet-and-greet gatherings, potlucks, block parties, and even a “Party on the Pond.” We’re fortunate to have neighbors willing to volunteer their land for such an event — and rumor has it, there’s a talented musician in the neighborhood who might join in!

To make these events a reality, we need volunteers to serve on planning committees. If you're interested in helping out, please feel free to contact the Board here.
